Scrambler Fever 2024
Lubuskie! Some gourmets associate it only with Gin Lubuski or beer Lubuskie Jasne. Apart from the drinks mentioned above, we associate it with wild areas, large tracts of forests, and a small population guaranteeing an adventure. Especially if you get a flat tire... :)
That's why this year we decided to explore the areas of the Lubuskie province. This time, thanks to the support provided by the Brzózka Forest District, we managed to arrange very interesting routes with a significant elevation gain and varied terrain.
This year, the base of the rally was the Temar S.C. recreation center. Kołatka is picturesquely located on Lake Bronków near Krosno Odrzańskie.
Practically the entire Thursday was spent on the so-called "check-in" and casual conversations with participants from all over Europe. Yes, this year was also very "international"! In addition to our compatriots, we also had teams from Germany, Denmark, and the Czech Republic. Just before dinner, we held trial tests on specially prepared tracks that were available to competitors for training throughout the day. Even though some of them arrived on wheels and were on the road for several days, this did not stop them from practicing their technique before the evening time trial. Most participants took part in the trial. They didn't have an easy task. The track was tight and winding, and after a whole day of training, the route significantly changed its "consistency", which doubled the degree of difficulty and roughness. Despite everything, they fought bravely and did not give up!
Glory to them for that!
Late on Thursday evening, we held a briefing combined with a show of photos from previous editions. There was a lot of laughter!

Friday welcomed us with beautiful weather. In the morning we ate a delicious breakfast and started preparing for the rally itself! There were over 130 participants at the start. What a sound that was. Hundreds of warming and rumbling engines eager to ride!
At the start, participants received maps and a task card. Typically, we released them in twos at two-minute intervals.
The route included steep climbs and long sandy descents. There were also traverses and long gravel straights, forests, and field roads. There were hidden checkpoints along the way, where you had to demonstrate both your knowledge and physical fitness. There was no boredom! The route was over 70 km long, but despite everything, following the roadbook, the participants spent the whole day on it. After returning and handing in the task cards, dinner was waiting for the participants.
In the evening, we showed video reports from several scrambler trips made by our friends from Berlin, there was music and long conversations until the morning.
Saturday is traditionally a sightseeing touristic route following our GPX track. Touristic doesn't mean boring. Additionally, the evening rain added its 2 cents, making the planned ride through the swamp much more difficult, to say the least. It was a real children's day :)
Anyone who drove through this section could wash off the mud by driving through 3 different crossings over the Bóbr River. Clay traps, sandy highways, and a tour of the silos in Alfred Nobel's former factory (DAG complex). Overall, 120 kilometers full of attractions were on the one hand a challenge, but on the other hand, they provided everyone with amazing experiences. Only one motorcycle died on the route and when we were going to pick it up, we got our pickup truck stuck in the clay mud. The fight was hard, but in the end, we won against Mother Nature.
While the male part of the organizers fought for survival by saving the pickup truck, the women were counting the points and selecting the winners. Just in time for the dinner, after which the awards ceremony took place.
